$320 per person for 4 week term including art materials, notes and charts and morning tea.

Have you always wanted to know how to paint in watercolour but just don’t know where to begin? Kathy Karas has designed a special 4 week course to be held at This Old House Studio in beautiful Berry just for those would like to learn how to begin to paint in watercolour.
Under Kathy’s guidance you will be instructed in a series of easy step by step classes that will show you how to get started and gain confidence in painting.
Week 1. Products and what they do. Painting examples on how to use the brush and apply paint and water.
Week 2. Basic watercolour techniques. These are the techniques that everyone should begin with when starting to paint in watercolour.
Week 3. Colour mixing. Learn what each colour in Kathy’s palette does and how Kathy mixes colour to achieve beautiful glowing watercolour paintings.
Week 4. Let’s paint! In this class we will be using all of the above to get creative and paint a subject.

Kathy Karas is a highly successful artist and has painted for many years. She paints in oil, acrylic and watercolour the scenery of the stunning coastal and rural South Coast areas.
Her style can be described as ‘modern Impressionist with an interest in a wide range of subject matter including still life, figurative and portraiture. She draws inspiration from local nature with rainforest and wildlife featuring in much of her work.
Kathy runs workshops in Berry at This Old House Studio where she shares her talents with those who are total beginners to painting and to those who wish to refresh their painting skills learning Kathy’s style of art.
Kathy also takes groups on art discovery painting tours within Australia and Europe. Her work has been featured in Australian Artist and Artist Palette Magazines.
Kathy is represented by several galleries in Australia and the Paks Gallery in Europe and exhibits in the Urbino Inaquarello exhibition in Italy.
