Join Jenny Indigo Daze for her new Eco Dyeing workshop!
In this workshop you will learn how to use botanical items such as gum leaves to create gorgeous natural dyes and stains for fabric.
First you will be introduced to the technique of eco dyeing including the recipes and natural items you can use. You will create your fabric parcel using beautiful silky merino fabric.
While your fabric parcels are steeping you will hand stitch, Sashiko style, a Japanese Origami Tote Bag, or a Furoshiki carrying bag, to dye at home. Jenny will also use the time while your fabric is steeping to show you how to make silk string from silk fabric scraps!
All materials including, 1/2 metre of silky merino fabric, 1 metre length of Kimono material (30cm wide), silk thread, silk scraps for embellishment, Gum leaves etc. are provided.
Morning tea also provided with a break for lunch of approx 45 minutes.
