Basketry with Lissa-Jane de Sailles
Friday 23rd June
Cost $175 ($75 deposit with balance on the day)
Making a Catalan Platter or tension tray is a fun and easy way to learn about basic basketry techniques. The tray can be used for functional purposes as well as funky wall pieces. We begin by making a wreath which is then used to hold a number of ribs in place. The ribs are secured by a simple over and under technique which is then further held together by pairing another set of weavers to bind the ribs.
A number of materials can be used to make the platters so let’s play and discover your creativity with a new twist!
Workshop cost is $175 which includes materials, morning tea and lunch. A $75 deposit is required to secure your place with the balance payable on the day.
Participants are asked to bring along a pair of secatuers, a spray bottle and a notepad and pen.
